ShangYun Wu is a Taiwanese Artist-Composer working between Taiwan and the world. Her practice brings together music composition and media research, spanning film, animation, sound installations and interactive experiences.

Shifting perspectives
through sound.
My practice centres on Sound and Media, shifting the perspective from how sonic information is transmitted to how it is shaped, sought and experienced—and how these processes form human perception and communication.
Through classical composition, electronic textures and media systems, I explore sound as a material that structures emotion, attention and the experience of time. Expectation, delay, tension and release become ways of composing a listener’s temporal experience, in dialogue with memory and bodily states.
